Details: # of Openings:  1Description: Supervisor, Warehouse/Transportation – MEM Airport Gate Gourmet, Inc., a gategroup company, is the world’s largest independent provider of airline catering.  We are currently looking for a Supervisor for Warehouse/Transportation for our facility located at the Memphis Airport in Memphis, Tennessee.  Reporting to the Account Manager for a major customer, the Supervisor is responsible for supporting the operational unit with meeting customer requirements and needs in the area of Warehouse and Transportation. The Warehouse/Transportation Supervisor coordinates services between the warehouse and drivers and controls activities in the warehouse and on the ramp.  The position is responsible for supervising drivers. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:   Responsible for obtaining daily flight information with departure times and aircraft types and makes adjustments to daily flight schedules as needed. Makes up Meal Driver run sheets and Beverage Driver Run Sheets. Responsible for supervising the drivers. Checks cooler beverage setup areas to ensure drivers setup coolers and load flat bed battery operating golf type vehicles for on time departure to meet flights on time. Monitors Airline flight Screen for aircraft and gat changes during major departure banks and communicates and confirms changes were made with the drivers. Ensures that all employees are in compliance with safety procedures and Airport Transport Authority badging requirements. Assists drivers with late flights and equipment changes if need be. Responsible for getting information from airlines on service requirements and updates. Maintains radio contact with drivers during operation. Conducts regular checks of the facility to ensure no equipment was left behind after flights leave the kitchen. Responsible for security and proper transportation of galleys and maintaining cleanliness of vehicles. Trains and monitors employees on proper work procedures to ensure maximum productivity and security. Monitors daily manpower planning and employee turnover. Responsible for employee retention. Maintains all financial goals related to productivity, overtime, and labor goals. Works with management staff to improve performance of the operation. Responsible for coaching, counseling and preparing corrective action for employees. Assists in the development and training of subordinates as required. Prepares administrative reports as required. Responsible for safety, quality and compliance with customer specifications. Also, will inventory airline required supplies at times and will ship supplies to other stations as needed. Ensures compliance to USDA procedures for handling International strip flights and International trash.   Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Associates degree or degree from a 4 year university or college preferred. A valid driver’s license. Ability to pass a DMV verification process. Clean driving record that does not contain moving violations, accidents. Minimum 3 years experience working as a delivery driver and/or in a customer service capacity required. Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience working in a high volume, manufacturing, food production, restaurant or catering environment preferred. Experience working in the airline industry is preferred. Job Skills: Strong customer service skills. Ability to supervise and motivate others. Dedication to excellence and a strong work ethic. Attention to detail and compliance oriented with strong problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to adjust to operational needs as they arise and ability to work under pressure and able to make sound decisions. Proficiency with MS Excel, Word Access and Power point preferred. Ability to work weekends and a flexible schedule as needed. Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate with both internal and external customers.   Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: A valid driver’s license. Ability to pass a DMV verification process. Clean driving record that does not contain moving violations, accidents. Ability to obtain Airport Transport Authority badge required.   Travel: Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.   Environmental Requirements: Regularly stands, walks, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 10+ hours. In a normal production kitchen facility there may be physical discomfort due to temperature and noise. Ability to lift, push, pull or maneuver 50-75 lbs. Ability to work outdoors 75-80% of the time.
