| Details: Location:  TN - Memphis City: Memphis State: TN Functional Area:  Corporate Branch Number:  74 POSITION SUMMARY: The person in this role will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies for a defined set of spend categories which may change from time to time. Responsibilities include providing leadership and technical expertise in project management, operational readiness, program compliance and evaluation of market conditions for supply programs pursuing the greatest economical benefit based on clearly defined business requirements and best practices. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and implement category strategies for a defined set of spend categories Develop supply chain models that optimize the value of products and services that support business unit requirements. Act as a supply market expert evaluating market effect on our business as buyer/supplier conditions change Lead cross-functional teams in the implementation and management of world class supply programs that ensure a superior customer experience; and that are accountable for project results through progress gates Provide contract management for enterprise-wide supplier agreements, including savings tracking, key performance metrics, monthly compliance reporting, scorecard/service level agreement reporting, review and approval of terms and conditions, corrective action initiatives, and communication of performance to executive management as it relates to company and supplier commitments Act as single point of contact and corporate liaison for enterprise level supplier relationships/agreements encouraging optimal conditions for continuous communications, issue avoidance, and resolution Lead verbal and written communications on proposed strategies, on project implementation plans and progress, and on results to executives and stakeholders Lead direct reports, indirect reports, and work in a matrix environment to deliver results Develop subordinates and other team members to improve skills, performance and effectiveness Implement buying policies, procedures, and technology improvements at the local level Drive cost reductions, compliance, and manage material/ service category demand COMPETENCIES: Building relationships, organizational networking capability and influential interpersonal skills Good communication skills Sensitivity and customer service focus Category vision and expertise Ability to work with and lead individuals and teams Ability to multi-task, prioritize and plan work independently Strong attention to detail Results oriented Excellent judgment and decision making skills Strong work ethics Ability to be adaptable and learn continuously Capable of initiating action and managing change EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management or equivalent is strongly preferred Masters Degree or MBA is preferred Experience in sourcing, category management, supplier development and contract management in a large, multi-branch operation over a large geographic area 3-5 years experience managing large, mission-critical spend categories Demonstrated success implementing projects across diverse business and cultures ServiceMaster field operations experience and/or institutional knowledge a plus | ||||
